Mayor Cervenik Will Shave His Head if Goal is Met

Wednesday, May 05, 2010

Relay for Life gives all members of our Community the chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and to fight back against the disease.   This year, Relay for Life has a special meaning for those of us at Euclid City Hall. My Administrative Assistant, Colleen Tarsitano, who has devoted thirty years of her life to the residents of Euclid, is fighting and winning the battle against breast cancer and has shown great courage, resolve and strength on her journey.

For this reason, I recently challenged the Relay for Life Teams that will be participating in the Euclid event on May 14th and 15th to raise $60,000 for the cause.  Since this is a $20,000 increase over the amount raised last year, I have decided to use my head in order to help achieve this goal.  I have agreed to have my head shaved at High Noon on May 15th at Euclid High School Stadium, provided the goal of $60,000 is met.

Donations may be made to any or all of the teams participating, as I am proud and thankful for each and every individual taking the time and possessing the dedication to make this event a meaningful and life changing experience for all.

Mayor Bill Cervenik.
